Short customer research survey
Draft a focused survey of ten questions or fewer that answers one research question without leading or boring your customers.
The prompt
Help me write a short customer survey. I want honest answers, a high completion rate and results I can act on. What we offer: [one or two sentences] Who will get the survey: [for example, customers who bought in the last 90 days] The one main thing I want to learn: [for example, why people choose us over alternatives] What I'll do with the answers: [the decision this will inform] Where it will be sent: [email, in-app, after checkout] Please: 1. Write no more than 10 questions, taking under five minutes in total. 2. Mix multiple choice and rating questions with at most two open-text questions. 3. Give answer options for every closed question, including "Other" or "Not sure" where it fits. 4. Put easy questions first and anything personal last. 5. After the list, flag any question that is leading, asks two things at once or uses our internal jargon. Also write a two-sentence invitation that says how long it takes and why it matters. Ask me questions if anything is unclear.
